Our Treatments

At Joint Solutions, we specialise in physiotherapy-led knee and shoulder injection therapy . Every treatment begins with a thorough assessment, so you receive the option that’s right for you- clearly explained, allowing you to make an informed and confident decision about your care with no pressure.

Our approach focuses on safe, effective, and non-surgical joint pain treatment, tailored to your individual needs.

Knee Injections

Knee injection therapy is recommended for patients with knee osteoarthritis or persistent knee pain that has not responded fully to physiotherapy or medication. We offer three types:

Hyaluronic Acid Knee Injections

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in healthy joint fluid. When injected into the knee, it helps restore lubrication, reduce friction, and improve movement. Benefits build gradually over several weeks and can last for several months — making this a popular choice for longer-term relief with fewer side effects.

Corticosteroid Knee Injections

Corticosteroid injections deliver anti-inflammatory medication directly into the knee joint for faster pain relief. They are most useful when inflammation is more severe or is significantly limiting your daily activities. Because repeated use can affect joint tissue, these injections are always used carefully and only when clinically appropriate.

Combined Knee Injections (Hyaluronic Acid + Corticosteroid)

In some cases, we recommend a combined injection — delivering both a corticosteroid and hyaluronic acid in a single treatment. This provides rapid relief from inflammation while also supporting longer-term joint lubrication and comfort.

Shoulder Injections

Shoulder injection therapy can be effective for managing shoulder pain, stiffness, and reduced movement caused by conditions such as osteoarthritis, bursitis, or rotator cuff-related shoulder pain. We offer the following types of injections for the shoulder:

Hyaluronic Acid Shoulder Injections

Used in cases of shoulder joint osteoarthritis, hyaluronic acid injections can improve joint lubrication, reduce stiffness, and support longer-term joint health.

Corticosteroid Shoulder Injections

Corticosteroid injections are the most common treatment for shoulder inflammation, bursitis, and subacromial pain. Relief is often quicker than with other options, helping patients return to daily activities and sleep more comfortably. These injections are always combined with a rehabilitation programme to support long-term recovery.

Choosing The Right Treatment

There is no single best injection for everyone. The right choice depends on your diagnosis, the severity and duration of your symptoms, your previous treatments, and your personal goals. During your consultation, Melanie will explain every option clearly and recommend the most appropriate course of treatment for your individual needs.
